February Wrap Up.

February. The shortest month of all! And it’s over. It’s gone. It’s almost March! Alright, that was fast… I do not remember months passing by that fast when I was younger.

Anyhow, I hope this month was a good one for you. Things are difficult in the world lately. The pandemic and now a war in a neighboring country here…. Things are not looking very good. But all we people can do is support, pray and hope for a better tomorrow. Right?

I am not here to tell you about that though. Today’s post is all about February’s reads and what I enjoyed in general, hoping you will share your opinion in a comment or pick up some ideas on what to catch up on in March. So, let’s begin…

Life has moved on here as in January. There have been no changes regarding the restrictions. We also had a bit of bad weather with a storm passing above Germany as well as other countries (what was the name again?) and now, the sunny days begin. Cold but sunny. Cologne, the city I live in, is also known as the capital of Carneval and that was celebrated to a certain extent (not by me. I was busy!!).

I did a little bit of shopping again and purchased a beautiful cardigan in a pastel blue color. I am in love with it! My hunt for a second job went well and maybe, I do have some news! But I won’t put everything out here for you…

As I have said before, I decided to have a reading goal as a year’s resolution. So far, it has been going well. In just two months, I had finished 11 books and I am always looking up for more book suggestions. If you got some, drop them below in a comment or visit my bookstagram to put your suggestion in my story! (More at @of_coffeethoughts on the world of insta).

Favorite books of the month:

  1. I noticed that ACOTAR is big out there. I have seen Tiktoks inspired by the story, bookstagrams full of its cover and more. So, last month, I decided to get the first book and see what the hype is all about. I must say…. I am hooked and I can’t wait to get the second book in my hands soon!
  2. Little Women has been a book I read ages ago. In Greek of course, as I was much younger and the language of English was not one I could easily understand yet. I even made a presentation on the story for a school project. Over the years, I also watched many movie adaptations. It’s a classic and a book for all ages really. I came across this particular edition during a visit at a bookstore and I simply HAD to have it.
  3. Everyone knows Tolkien’s works. This month I decided to get back to reading the Hobbit as well as starting a movie marathon for The Hobbit trilogy and LOTR. Wish me luck!

Favorite Shows:

I was persuaded by a good friend to watch this one. The Wheel of Time can be found on Amazon Prime and I highly recommend it. It’s a fantasy series with all sorts of beings and an easy story to follow. Have you watched it?

Everyone knows the Vikings on Netflix. The last season was recently concluded. Some time ago, Netflix had also announced the sequel of the Vikings coming soon and guess what! It’s out there. Vikings Valhalla takes place about 100 years since the first series and begins with the massacre of the Vikings in England. Honestly, I was a bit worried it wouldn’t be as good as the first series but I was impressed. The show takes place in Kattegat, a place we all known by now (or at least we known it if we have watched Vikings) and in England!

This was my monthly wrap-up. I do hope you enjoyed it and I hope you got some ideas on what to do on your free days in the near future! How was your month? Did you do anything exciting?

  1. Wow, time really is zooming by, isn’t it? Great selection of books there. Am definitely going to check out the first two titles. Here’s to hoping March doesn’t fly past like February did.
