2022 is almost at an end. A couple of weeks more and we will be stepping into 2023 with the best of hopes for a better year. While 2022 is coming to an end of us, it is also the year for Sir Elton John to leave the music scene.
After 60 years of colorful music, Sir Elton wrapping up with his own retirement tour. Hopefully, by this time next year, he will be enjoying some downtown of his own and to the fullest with his memories and loved ones. And let’s face it! He actually deserves it!!
After his release of Rocketman in 1972, Elton John rose to stardom and he stayed there for years and years with hits like ”I’m Still Standing”, ”Club at the End of the Street”, ”Your Song” and many more. ”Candle in the Wind” will most likely be his crown jewel according to many. First dedicated to Marilyn Monroe, it was later reproduced and played in honor of Princess Diana.
Sir Elton John has inspired many of the generations and many followed his footsteps. Artists inspired include Dua Lipa, Britney Spears and Ed Sheeran with whom he recorded a duet last year about Christmas. Although the piece was released in the middle of the pandemic, it shone a light on the meaning of Christmas. Rightfully so, it even skipped over to his year and it is a perfect fit for the holidays!
