Life… Minus a Computer.

Daily writing prompt
Your life without a computer: what does it look like?

I have been using a computer since a very young age… I cannot write a specific date, but I know I was really, really young.

It wasn’t all business back then. I mostly used it for the fun of it. Paint being my favourite program to create and colour shares, make abstract art and be proud about it… Eventually, I learned how to type both in Greek and English there and thanks to still being young then, I have turned out to be a rather fast typer! That does comes in handy when you use a computer on an-almost-daily-basis due to work or studies.

I first started using a computer a bit more seriously in the later years of school. Some subjects required us to use the web and look up information on topics, write essays and make presentations… I enjoyed that! University followed, work later on, etc.

However, my life without a computer has been a thing. Not a constant thing, but it happens that some times through the year, I will find myself looking at the black screen and avoiding that technological advancement. Not because I dislike it, but because I prefer not to let it rule my life 24/7.

Life without a computer is simpler. I can 100% admit that! I might actually prefer it. Of course, I have to go about the old ways to find information about something or take notes on a daily basis about this and that. It is not that much different than what I do now. If you could see on my desk, you would realize that there are numerous notebooks for different things. Either for my studies, or for my daily tasks, or for my writing (yes, not everything finds its way in my blog)… There are post-its all over my desk, in books, old or new ones, colourful ones or plain yellow boring ones… And of course, when I do not sit in front of my computer, you will find me reading an actual book or listening to the radio or watching a movie that is playing on TV…

Sure, life without technology could be difficult, even more difficult that is. But maybe, just maybe, it’s worth to live in such a way from time to time!
