Sharing Thoughts

To my future self.

Dear Future Me,

I believe you have come upon this letter because, some time three years ago, I decided to answer an other daily prompt for our blog… If this blog is still standing, and if you have the time to write in it, well, good! Hopefully, you will remember to come back to this. I wonder how close what I imagine our life is in three years time is to the real deal… So… here we go…

Do you still remember your wedding day? Of course you do! It has been some months, you have celebrated your 3rd anniversary, hopefully in some good way! But the actual wedding is some months ahead from today, the day I write to you. Some months until you marry the love of your life, the man who puts up with your quirks and has taught you how to laugh and love. There is a lot going on in your life now but so far, you have survived!!

I am sure wherever you are now that there is a lot more going on in your life. Fingers crossed, by the time you come back to this, you are living the best of your life. Married, surely, but happy and with a child in the family, if not two! If there are little ones running about, then tell them you love them, a lot. I am certain they are incredible and they need to hear it. Let them eat a cookie or a piece of chocolate once in a while. Visit your parents as much as possible and tell them how much you miss them being around 24/7. Thank them as often as possible for what they have done over the years.

But, dear self, remember to always take some time off from the daily routine and catch a breath. Go outside, have an adventure, grab a drink… Do everything you did before waltzing into that new life you have had now for 3 years. Routine can kill things, you know that all too good. But don’t let it!! I, for myself, will try to make a note of it for the both of us.
